anyone else having problems with nytimes.com?

We pay extra to have unlimited access to the digital version (we get a paper daily) since I like to read Paul Krugman's blogs. But it doesn't go smoothly for long and I had to call ONCE AGAIN and have them reset the subscription correctly. It's on their end. This is the third time since I started getting unlimited and paying extra. It's getting real old.

You'd think the gray lady could afford to have excellent website service...

thanks for letting me vent...

I'm better now...

Chrome: New Incognito Window (ctrl+shift+N); Firefox: New Private Window (ctrl+shift+P). No cookies stored or data saved for the browsing session, which should allow you to read NYT articles without registering the 10-article limit (which uses cookies).

but then I had to go back in. It's just a PITA to have to keep calling them and getting them to fix the problem THEY had...the guy I spoke to admitted it...

They charged me full price for the next month anyway, and trying to get that refunded was like trying to get blood out of the proverbial stone. Private browser window is the way to go, especially for people like me who do not access it all that much.

But I know they have been and are are trying to increase their digital presence/identity etc, and the new editor who is most interested in that is now recuperating from kidney cancer surgery.

That portion of their site may be undergoing changes that are negatively affecting you, but for some reason not me ..... Yet.

We shall see.

When I have had other problems in the past with other issues, I had success with phoning and being patient to get thru the categories to finally talk to a "real person."

It does take a while, but I have always been served satisfactorily.

Good luck.

I keep hoping they don't catch on to the fact that I registered on their site way back when I was a daily delivery subscriber (20 years ago) PLUS the crossword subscription. Now down to Sunday only, with a four month suspension while I live elsewhere with no delivery available. So far so good as to web and crossword access.

17. When I am away from my urban Sunday delivery...

I am in the far north during my regular 4 month suspensions and call each Sunday around 6 AM to the itty bitty market to see if the Times still delivers there just for me and a few others.

I LOVE it, despite knowing I could see it digitally. The machinations I have gone thru to get the real paper Sunday way up in rural Northern Michigan are legend in my family. A few years had to find out the delivery times of the Sunday NYT delivery PLANE and where it landed regionally to get a copy off. A bundle with one removed and MONEY in place went on, and I waved to the pilot as she took off.

Now much easier, as long as I drive into "town" EARLY to the itty bitty market because they don't answer the phone. Ever.

Once I arrived in PJs and bleary-eyed and they didn't have it!! Sans coffee, I snipped " Tell them Mary is PISSED, She NEEDS her Sunday Times!!" It has come every week since, and I always leave a tip to assuage my previous outburst. Not their fault I am addicted.

But I get it most weeks here and love it, even tho the rest of the week, I peruse the digital.

There is just something about paper, especially on Sunday.
