Nick Offerman’s character on Parks and Recreation is a staunch libertarian. So libertarian is Ron Swanson that he doesn’t even believe he should have a job as manager of a government park. He’s even part of a budget slashing task force — just saying it gives him a bit of a semi. Nick Offerman, though, is a bit more measured in his approach; militantly moderate, if you will.

Offerman was invited to speak at the 2014 White House Correspondents Dinner — but he was anything but moderate in his brutal roasting of the media gathered there, of the cable network he works for, and of gun nuts in particular.

But, unlike, it seems, most rifle owners are today, Nick is what he calls a “Second Amendment Originalist.” He explains the meaning in his “Bill of Rights Refresher Course,” among many other observations (which starts at about 9 minutes in). Here, we’ll highlight those on the reality of today’s gun culture…but there isn’t a minute out of the 16 that isn’t worth watching:
