America Divided Over Hillary Clinton Presidency, NBC/WSJ Poll Finds

America Divided Over Hillary Clinton Presidency, NBC/WSJ Poll Finds

Hillary Clinton remains the overwhelming front-runner among Democrats for the 2016 presidential race, but the American public at large is equally divided about voting for her, according to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll.

“It’s not surprising that, as she moves from being secretary of state to being the 2016 candidate, she’s going through a different filter in how she’s being viewed,” said Republican pollster Bill McInturff, who conducted the poll along with Democratic pollster Fred Yang and Hart Research Associates. “And how she’s being viewed is through an increasingly partisan lens.”

...

She enjoys overwhelming support from the Democratic base -- with three-quarters of Democrats suggesting they’re likely to check her name on their 2016 ballot. But 70 percent of Republicans and a sizable 40 percent of independents say there’s “no chance” they will vote for her.

Those numbers actually sound pretty good.

Not the base of either party. The base nominates.

Let a candidate emerge who is a populist from either party or neither party and watch her chances plummet. I can't remember a single non-incumbant race that was predicted accurately this far out. It is like trying to call the 2015 Super Bowl today and equally as futile.

Hillary is running for President in 2016, over two years from now.

The poll you posted means precisely nothing in 2014.

and money to do.

If you want to complain about what polls are available, do so to the people who actually do the polling.

As you said, they poll for money. No point in complaining.

I will continue to complain about Democrats forgetting that the 2014 elections are critical. Thanks.

whether or not they 'give a shit', then you can cross me off the list of people you complain to as well, then.

How I feel about your complaints aligns with how the pollsters feel.

I am not even a big supporter of her's and people think Republicans are going to be voting for her.

30 Percent of republicans and 60 percent of so called independents are still possibilty for ovting for her.

If there Is no liberal alternatve then If race is Hillary VS Republican novemeber 2016 she will get most democrats to vote for her
except those who still register as dems but vote republican

Back in 2012 Romney actully won the so called Independent vote and Obama Is In white house now.

Hillary would win on the basis of the Republican crossover vote. Obama had more support from self-described Democrats but less from independents and only got 7% of self-described Republicans.
