CATHERINE THOMPSON JUNE 18, 2014, 7:10 AM EDT
Hillary Clinton on Tuesday gave a signed copy of her new memoir "Hard Choices" to a Republican National Committee intern in a squirrel costume who's been following her book tour.
Clinton approached the squirrel, clad in a t-shirt reading "Another Clinton in the White House is Nuts," just before her CNN town hall event outside the Newseum in Washington, DC.
"Hello Mr. Squirrel, how are you?" Clinton said with a smile. "I know you've been following me around and while you're in between your gigs. I wanted you to get a copy of my book."
"I hope that you will make the hard choice and read my book," she added. "But you bring a smile to a lot of people's face." The squirrel quietly accepted the peace offering from Clinton but was more vocal on Twitter.
"Thank you, @HillaryClinton! I love fiction!" the squirrel later tweeted.

(21,846 posts)That makes the RNC nuts, not HRC.
I thought the term might be somehow related to mole or weasel.

(11,910 posts)I can't imagine they'd be against her (or behind this) since they'd suck up to whoever
they thought could possibly win an election.

(11,910 posts)Thanks for the info.
I signed up awhile ago for a Twitter account for legit work purposes (a conference hubby was presenting at in Vancouver was posting links to meaningful web dev documentation, and I work in the same area at the same place). When I saw that the big boss (hubby's direct boss) immediately started following me, I stopped using it. He's such a stalker where hubby and I are concerned, it's a bit creepy and he has frequently made inappropriate remarks -- even in meetings. He tried to friend request me on FB too, but I blocked him.

"Yeah, right, those guys will do anything for a little overtime."
"We don't want him to be recognized."
"No, we don't want that. Hey! He can wear a costume!"
"Perfect. Now what kind of costume? How about a snake to show how deliciously sinister she is? Bwa-ha-ha!"
"Yeah! No. We don't have any snake costumes."
"Oh! I know! My neice's brother's sister dressed up as a squirrel on Halloween. We can use that!"
"Nice! Have him meet us at Beth's Escort Service and we'll set it up. Ben? Another round, please!"

I didn't think I'd see a tracker wearing a squirrel costume.
