Move over, Miss South Carolina: Miss USA doesn't know her state's capital!

http://www.sfgate.com/entertainment/usweekly/article/Miss-USA-Nia-Sanchez-Doesn-t-Know-Her-Home-State-5556966.php

Well, this is awkward. Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez, who was crowned Miss USA on June 9, couldn't identify the capital of her home state during an interview with The Todd Show on Monday, June 16.

While participating in a quiz on the radio show, the brunette beauty was asked Nevada's capital. She awkwardly fumbled for words, answering, "Oh, um, ah, oh my gosh." While she was struggling for the answer, the host chimed in to provide Sanchez with the correct response of Carson City.

"Thank you, I was going to say that! I was like, that one DJ host on MTV, back in the day, his name, that's how I always remembered it," Sanchez then said. "Carson Daly, that guy!" she added.

Well, to be fair, it's not one of the easy ones, like Boston or Atlanta.

Although his western NC is too wide north-south, and he has too much of the Red River flowing through SW Ark.

You don't suppose he's Autistic, too?

with little flags with the names of the state capitals to insert into holes in their respective states. And then I got a Milton Bradley jigsaw puzzle map of the US a little later. I loved both of those puzzle maps.

Remember the damn capital of the state you represent. If one doesn't, they will be called a dope.
It amazes me how anyone could forget the name of the capital city of the state they live in. We're taught it over and over and over.

then I realized you're a fellow Nevadan, so you can snipe...but not in front of the Californians, that's just embarrassing.

How are the kitties? I just got back from picking up a feral from the vet, no more kittens, which is good since we had to rehome the last three.

It produced gold and silver coins from 1870 until 1893, and all the coins it produced are now highly sought after by collectors. The Old Mint building is still in existence is open to visitors.
