"Please don't throw me in that briar patch"...

So the President tells the Congressional leaders that he does not need their permission to act in Iraq. In effect, he is telling them to put their vote where their mouth is. Either shut up or vote on it in the House and Senate.

But the Republicans do not want to vote on anything dealing with Iraq at the present time. And the President knows it.

If they tell him he doesn't have the authority, then they will have to take a vote to give him the authority or to deny him the authority.

I suspect the loud drone from the Republicans will subside greatly by tomorrow...

... with republicans any longer. It's a huge waste of time. I'm happy for him to give them the figurative middle finger as often as possible. Wish he would have started to do that much sooner.
