Lifestyles of the 1%

As a private pilot, I get to see something of the lives of the 1%, since they don't do airlines. I'm renting a hangar for my 4 cylinder, 4-seat, 40 year-old airplane from a private company. The company mainly runs nursing homes and a hospital. The sons inherited it. They keep a jet and a pilot, and jet on the weekends to St. Croix. That's where your health insurance dollars go. And still you find taxes an outrage? The sons have 10x the wage of the President each, and .0000001% of the responsiblity. You're angry at the wrong people. The right people are able to keep private, which keeps you in the dark.

An administrator of one of these types of facilities was just fired for making racist comments. The interim administrator owns a yacht.

He's got all sorts of certifications instructor, jet, twin. His old man was a pilot for a company based in Pennsylvania.
About a decade ago he was looking for better pay for his skills and couldn't find jack. He ended up moving to Russia to fly around the bloated oligarchs.
He and your hangar mates aren't serving the 1%, it's more like the 0.01%.

would never spend on some shit like that.

i'm not saying they wouldn't want any luxuries but there is a point where it just seems more about looking for ways to spend money because you are bored .

that's fucking ugly also. i hope it's fake.

It's a "concept design" by a yacht-designing firm, to show off their "bold, innovative philosophy".

Translated from the PR-speak, it's an attention-getting device.

Still, it does say something about the people whose attention they're trying to attract.

If people see what the 1% really do, what they really live like, they will demand higher taxes on unearned income and demand hefty estate taxes. The idle rich hide behind stories about the few entrepreneurs, like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg, who actually did create gigantic businesses. And they never admit that the majority of them inherited their wealth. They pretend they are somehow self-made, despite all the help they got from their family and the family's connections.

In my own field of work, I frequently have to cater to the wealthy. I've got to tell you - the vast majority of them are extremely unpleasant. The sense of entitlement, the nose in the air, the sickening notion that greater wealth is the equivalent of superiority. Yes. Tax them. Tax me more, I don't care. I'll pay more if they pay more. Granted, my contributions wouldn't make much difference as my weekly earnings are about 230 bucks, but, that's because I work for rich people.

....because they compare themselves with people making millions.

The income disparity has gotten WAY out of hand.

On Real Time Bill asked the panel if they could live on 30k and former Bush Press Secretary Dana Parino said, "Of course not." (She probably gets 50k just for showing up at some places. 150k to flap her gums for three minutes before introducing someone.)

The general consensus from the wealthy is the lower classes should not have it better because they don't deserve it and they wouldn't know what to do with it anyway because they are ignorant scum and always have been. Besides, the world is designed to where they don't have to even SEE "those people" if they don't want to.

I notice the show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" is no longer on. The rich want the public to believe times are tough for EVERYONE.

It will get REALLY nasty once the rich turn boats and oil rigs into full blown countries. It has already been done, though Peter Thiel, head of Pay Pal, is trying to do more of it. Why bother hiring people when you can enslave them?
