General Petraeus hangs McCain out to dry...

Senator John McCain has been making the argument that President Obama should fire his entire intelligence people and hire folks like General David Petraeus and others that were involved in the Iraq War surge.

General Petraeus was clear to make a distinction between his and Senator McCain's comments:

“If there is to be support for Iraq, it has to be support for a government of Iraq. That is, a government of all the people, and that is representative of and responsive to all elements of Iraq,” Petraeus said, according to The Spectator. “President Obama has been quite clear on this: This cannot be the United States being the air force for Shia militias or a Shia on Sunni Arab fight. It has to be a fight of all of Iraq against extremists.”

to do, regardless of how appropriate Obama's position is, and even if Obama's position is the one McCain himself and other Republicans held just a brief moment earlier.

Oh yeah, nothing. Instead he clasps his hands to his mouth, grunts and gurgles. Chokes a bit, mumbles, crosses his eyes and jumps up and down and gets red-faced but doesn't say anything. People that pass him by wonder what his trying to say, but nobody knows.

An Iraqi government by and for Iraqis is the last thing the imperialist neoconservatives want, and always has been the last thing they want.

Of course, that's a reason why Maliki has to go, but it's up to the Iraqi people, preferably united Sunni and Shia, to give him the bad news.
