Tea Party cousin just posted this and I would love to respond. Any help out there?

Texas Governor Rick Perry was on Fox News’ Hannity on Tuesday talking about the massive influx of Central American youths to his state’s border.

“It’s an overflowing mess is what it is,” said the Republican Governor. “A thousand people a day is what we’re seeing apprehended.”

He went on to say that it is not the state’s responsibility to be dealing with this issue and that the Federal government is absolutely failing.

“We either have an incredibly inept administration or they’re in on this somehow or another. I mean, I hate to be conspiratorial, but how do you move that many people from Central America across Mexico and then into the United States without there being a fairly coordinated effort?”

Perhaps this information will help you--

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports over 47,000 unaccompanied children have been detained so far this year after crossing the border, almost double the number for all of 2013 and almost five times the number from 2009. President Obama has described the situation as a "humanitarian crisis." Some of the children have been detained in shocking conditions. Over 1,000 children are reportedly being held at a warehouse in Nogales, Arizona, some sleeping in plastic containers. We speak to Jose Luis Zelaya, who fled Honduras in 2000 at the age of 13 in search of his mother. He traveled unaccompanied through Central America and finally reached Texas four months later. Zelaya is now a Ph.D. student at Texas A&M in the Department of Education. We also speak to Sonia Nazario in Los Angeles, California. She is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of "Enrique’s Journey: The Story of a Boy’s Dangerous Odyssey to Reunite with His Mother."

I'm not sure about Gov. Perry's accusation that somehow the Obama Administration is behind this: I mean, I hate to be conspiratorial, but how do you move that many people from Central America across Mexico and then into the United States without there being a fairly coordinated effort?” Sounds like "Perry Paranoia" to me...

3. Well, the "massive influx" is true, but Perry is an idiot.

They are being "apprehended," which is bad enough. But Perry seems to think Obama is luring all these kids here, basically overlooking the fact that they are getting picked up.

Here is a good article on the subject:

5. Hey I run a state that is anti-union, promote right to work for less policies and is anti-regulation

and then I wonder why I have a massive illegal immigration problem.

Perhaps Obama is just taking his advice and not messing with Texas.

7. If the Governor is right about it being "a fairly coordinated effort" ...

... why would he assume it would have been coordinated by our President? He stands nothing to gain from this, and there are plenty of other people (most likely in central America) who would have reasons to plan this. I do kind of wonder just what's happening here.

8. why argue with a fool? Facts don't matter.

Whatever reinforces their prejudice is good and accepted. If the facts don't they are ignored.

Thoreau said "It's never too late to outgrow your prejudices" These people are the exact opposite. Actually seeking out negative, mean-spirited, and their greatest hope "terrifying" information. Sick is the nicest thing I can say. 100% Un-American to the bone.

But don't argue with fools and don't hangout with assholes

9. Ask them who financed the civil wars in Central America
Thu Jun 19, 2014, 06:44 PM
Jun 2014

Who financed those civil wars with illegal drugs?
Who flooded those countries with weapons?
Who killed their leaders?
Who imposed austerity?
Who has prevented wage increases?
Who has prevented Unions?
Which corporations control those countries?
Who decides who can lead their own people in their own country?
Who allowed even priests and nuns to be murdered in the name of right wing ideology and then asked them what they thought would be the outcome?
