...Now that she called Darth Cheney out on his BS about this Presidents handling of Iraq.

(9,033 posts)they want to distance themselves from their own previous positions, and 13%-approval-rating Darth (when he left office) is a convenient target. Makes 'em look all serious and thoughtful and stuff.
Which is not to say I didn't thoroughly enjoy it.

Read the transcript, she poses the questions so he can give his filthy answers then she ends up agreeing with him...or at least taking it easy on him, etc.

(11,936 posts)And the way Cheney started sputtering, I don't think it was setup.
I'm no fan of Kelly, but I'm just calling it like I saw it.

(16,286 posts)But yes the questions were technically not softball, but as you say the follow up.
He would never take a chance to be interviewed by Rachel Maddow or Greg Palast or whatshername on Democracy Now, he would be torn apart

(62,265 posts)Since he already knew he wasn't going to be called out on Obama offering to keep the troops there.
Had she called him out on that, I would've been impressed, but he seemed pretty confident that he could state his lie and it would be glossed over.

(24,587 posts)I don't know why everyone thinks she gave the evil twins a hard time. It was an obvious setup, allowing Darth and sick Bambi to swill their disgusting vomit-enrobed spittle.

(15,071 posts)Typical "journalist" way of not actually telling it like it is.

(6,262 posts)She can do whatever she wants, and I suspect Roger is just dandy with ditching Darth Cheney if it means a different enough image of the Rethug propaganda machine to make them seem "fair."

(1,780 posts)She has potential to become a journalist so let's wait and see. She has some freedom at FOX but only a little. And Murdoch knows that she actually has a following, one that he doesn't want to lose. So lets see how far she goes from here.

(3,539 posts)Forget all those bad things. They never really happened.
Wait. Just wait to see the shiny new object we have for 2016.
It's new and improved and better than ever.
It even has a bright new image.

(5,105 posts)So Faux can claim they haz librulz. See the many similar "opinions" coming from cons lately, in fact, all at the same time, including Murdoch, who is "heartbroken" that Cantor lost.
There are no coincidences. Perhaps I've got tinfoil on my head, but I've been right before when seeing their patterns.

(9,186 posts)She never once hit back when the Cheny duo basically said she was spewing Democrat talkin' points...
I'm sure Roger Ailes saw the script before Meygan read it on air.

(15,185 posts)Cheney is one of the most unpopular politicians in the country of the last several decades. His brand is poison and no one in their right mind wants to be associated with him.
This gives an easy out for Fox to appear Feighrundbalanced! This way they can still attack the president with whatever incoherent talking points they have, but act like they're real journalists. It's brilliant in a way. And Ailes loves Kelly. As they said after the Rove election dust up, "hey we'll use any excuse we have to show her legs". Yes, that pretty much says it all right there.

Personally I'd like to see him tied up and then cover him in $1 bills and dropped off in the desert in Iraq.
