(14,561 posts)the American people, who seem to care more about the contestants on the Voice and not enough about the actions and inactions of those we elect to represent our interests. Sure, we can cast aspersion at the media, you bet. They are pathetic mouthpieces for their 1% owners. But the truth is out there, at our fingertips. If we weren't too lazy to dig for the truth, then 1% lies spouted from paid Tea Party shills would not have a following. Sadly we HAVE the government we deserve.

(153,122 posts)I cannot tell you how many times I have a received emails from people I KNOW have some intellectual capacity, emails that are simply ridiculous claiming something that could be easily disproved with one minute of online research........they don't bother to confirm because they WANT it to be true - what does that say about people in the "land of the free"? That they are SOOOO easily misled?
