My nine panel system has produced 20,816kWh since installation. 6.5kWh today, still collecting photons.

on how much they cost and then how long it would take to get paid back by the monthly payment. There are better investments out there that don't result in a pretty hefty initial investment.

I rent a few panels at their solar farm. Any production over my own use reduces my bill, which is nice because it helps to keep my summer bills reasonable. They're not all that distant, just on the other end of the county.

I signed up for the program while I lived at a previous residence and this one is a bit smaller, so I can't give you a real good comparison.

I'm assuming an apartment with gas heat, I have a single family home, all electric with a heat pump. Our electrical bill is about $125 a month. I have a high efficiency a/c unit, good insulation and windows, and the house is on a wooded lot. Most neighbors pay $180 a month. Hope your program comes here soon.

That's the bill for a 2 BR apartment, not a house. They base the amount of panels they'll rent to you on your usage and then offer you one option that offsets about half of your usage and one that offsets all of it or nearly so.

We also have comparatively low rates here compared to the rest of the state, because municipal power. I've never had a bill for more than $50, and I run the air a lot because our summers are ridiculously hot (think two week stretches where the overnight low is above 80.)

edit: I do have gas heat but the heat gets almost no use here in any case.
