Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe Japanese politician who hurled sexist abuse announced his resignation.
City assembly member Ayaka Shiomura, 35, was talking about measures to support child raising and boost fertility during a session on Thursday when male lawmakers interrupted her with cries of "Go and get married" and "Can't you give birth?"
At first it was unknown who made the remarks but a politician named Akihiro Suzuki (51) has been identified as the one (actually he admits saying the comment about marriage but not about giving birth). In any case, he will resign and he met with her and apologized.
There may still be many Japanese men who think this way secretly, but Japan is no longer a country where these things are acceptable and the fact that he is being forced to resign is a great sign and one that I am very happy to see.

Japan is only worthy of mention if it is nuclear disaster or something salacious like the very unusual panty dispensers, and Feminist issues are only worthy of mention of they offend people and cause a DU war. Hmmmm...
