Wikileaks last week again pierced the veil of official secrecy that surrounds global trade negotiations. The peek it gave us should alarm everyone.
Big Business and national governments wanted to conceal the terms of the proposed Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) while keeping consumers, unions, environmentalists and the vast majority of businesses in the dark. Thanks to Wikileaks, they failed.

(82,849 posts)If you don't like it, you must be suffering from ODS, or you just don't understand the subtleties of what's really going on. Where's my photo with that timeless "Everyone chill the fuck out. I got this." caption? Someday very, very soon, we'll be getting those NAFTA "side" agreements on environmental regulations and worker rights protections, and all you haters will see just how wrong you've been all along!
