Carter was always considered an outsider by the political establishment in DC.

There's an interesting book by Walter Karp called Liberty Under Siege, that posits (among other things) that Carter was done in by establishment-types on both sides because they wanted to restore the old backroom-style of politics.

He once Occupied some space in the club, but they didn't want him so now he is standing outside like the rest of us 99%.

I do find it disheartening to see some DU posters making excuses for the clubbiness of a Clinton with the worst damned idiot that the Club ever foisted on us.

But i guess Hill, et al, will just stand by her man?

you don't want Clinton to be the nominee, that's fine. present a coherent argument instead of some lazy half-assed theory buttressed by a picture at a baseball game.

I would love to see that too, but I know that is not going to happen.

The baseball game was propaganda about how the left and right should play well together while the rich left and rich right screw us all. The Pictures with President Obama were not staged in the same way at all.

1. Bill didn't have to hang with junior on national TV

2. Bush is a war criminal .

3. Clinton legitimizes his status by hanging with him in front of millions as 'one of the guys''

4. Clinton could have been with a democrat, I guess he doesn't have any democratic friends.

5. See Octofish for the Bush Crime family

6. No democrat I know would hang out with a war criminal and give him a propaganda boost that is discredited again for the iraqi war.

7. If you are OK with all this then ...I give up.

When nothing of the sort is taking place? What is it you think populism means?

Clinton's crime is sitting next to a Republican? And people wonder why nothing works in DC? Posts like this tell me people don't want it to work. They want "pure thoughts" and no government action whatsoever. After all, a politician's responsibility is not to govern, which requires working with the other party, but saying only what you want to hear and sitting only near people you approve of. You want a President who has nothing to do with Republicans? That let's out Elizabeth Warren, since she was one until the 1990s.
