K & R!
on edit: given what has been posted downthread since I first responded, I feel a bit compelled to expand on my statement as proclaiming the OP as truth.
It IS true, although, granted not the whole story. It's a short, pithy statement, oversimplified, like a "bumper sticker" as it's been described.
But, it does NOT make light of homophobia, or its consequences. And, I don't think it is an anti-male statement. It's directly addressing men who objectify women as sex objects. Operating from their own twisted view of the world, they believe that gay men treat other men as sexual objects as well. It's the same belittling, hateful attitude that reduces, in their minds, both categories of people: women and gay men, to merely sexual beings who are either a) in the case of women - exist to please them or b) in the case of gay men - exist to prey on other men in order to please themselves.
They project onto gay men the predatory attitude that they themselves have toward women. Thus, the fear and hatred that result in the crimes such as illustrated downthread.
It's both sides of the ugly "rape culture" coin.

(29,503 posts)that homophobia can be all the things in this thread, as well as the post in the OP.
Men - both straight AND gay - can be homophobic. Women - both straight and gay - can also be homophobic.
This expression - and I've seen it before - is a kind of expression which, for example, your mother would tell your father when your father kicks you out of the house for coming out of the closet. Or perhaps your brother's girlfriend/wife.

(146,116 posts)It's much worse than that. That's a bumper-sticker statement that minimizes what it actually is. There's a photo upthread that is a better definition. Look at that.

(52,999 posts)I agree it is incomplete. Among the things it leaves out is that lesbians are likewise targets of homophobia.
