They also have to take some personal responsibility here: stop voting for people who screw them over, or not voting at all.

people on the issues and to prevent them from actually voting, I can't lay the blame totally at the feet of the poor.

Well, you'll have to make the call on whether this is 'serious'.

The Democratic Party.

Either Cochran wins, and knows that he probably only did so by pulling more center-left votes and thus is pressured to be a bit more moderate, or McDaniels does, and the repubs lose a longtimer who knows how to play political games and replace him with yet another fruitloop who will get a lot of airtime and give us lots of quotes to use against the republican party.
