I think Obama is fucked in Iraq

No matter which way the tribal winds blow from here... this part of the world won't heal overnight.

Not that at I blame him at all. I have no answers either.

Just an observation...not the happiest, I'm sure

This ain't on Obama in any way. He's not fucked; the Iraqis are - and we were instrumental in that fucking.

I can remember writing about Iraq when the Shrub was screwing the place up. I said he had little to no hope of any real "success" there. At BEST he'd create a mildly stable democracy that was a friend to Iran and constantly threatened Saudi Arabia. At worst it would split into three combative regions that would spill their conflicts over into their neighbors. It appears we are somewhere in between those two extremes at this point.

so there is no reason to think another military intervention will be anything but wonderful and life affirming.

I have great confidence that our President is way too smart to go beyond a few hundred advisers + drone strikes. The dumbass TV networks are the only ones giving credence to the likes of Cheney/Wolfowitz/Kristol.

Set up another puppet govt. till one comes along strong enough to rule multiple tribes with an iron fist?

We're not leaving those oil fields...you know it, I know it, the world knows it

And drone strikes won't do shit to prevent the split-up of "Iraq." I'm telling you, Joe Biden is the most underrated member of this Admistration!
