(13,685 posts)6 years ago many had little doubt, just as you now. You'll learn.
Doubt is a good thing to have when it comes to the Clintons.

(13,685 posts)Back eight years ago Obama was hardly even known outside Chicago.
Hillary ain't betting on it. She hasn't even said she's running, or walking.

(21,786 posts)If I have any substantiative disagreements with her positions and policies I'll focus on those, in the primary, while supporting whomever I believe to be a better candidate. And I don't see attacks on Hillary (or Elizabeth Warren, or any other potential female candidate) on the basis of gender as being any more acceptable than attacks on Obama on the basis of race.
Although she was inevitable before, and look how that turned out; I wouldn't be putting money on a Clinton primary victory, just yet.

(21,786 posts)that you'd be able to suss out what "I don't see attacks on the basis of gender as any more acceptable than attacks on Obama on the basis of race" meant. Is it not obvious?
Luminous Animal
(27,310 posts)calling women b*****s.

(21,786 posts)And I've commented elsewhere on other threads regarding how reactionary I find many of the attitudes expressed here on issues of gender and race. See for instance the arguments about "white privilege" and sexual objectification and many other things besides. Personally? I'm kind of appalled at the number of people who, with all apparent sincerity, claim that discussion of women's issues and racial issues "makes DU suck" and is "divisive". Because the white male perspective is apparently supposed to be the default, and issues that affect women, people of colour, and LGBT are of secondary importance and can be worried about at some hypothetical future point.

(53,012 posts)Before deciding the election is over? As for language, I think this weekend pretty much answered that.

(53,012 posts)If fact, you would be heralded as a champion of free speech for doing so. Not as much if you called her a c...t though. That is way more free-speechy.

(27,310 posts)While I appreciate their effort to contribute to political discourse, I don't always catch their misspellings while dodging their buttholes, tails, paws, and ears.

(111,938 posts)Well, I guess that is slightly better than blaming it on Obama.

(27,813 posts)... Hillary becomes president, she will concern herself with the affairs of the nation, rather than what she is called.
As for what I am "okay" with, it is of no consequence whatsoever.
