"The ends justify the means..."

Remember when we finally actually did invade Iraq, the Bush White House said it was because "Saddam is a bad guy."
Look how that turned out.

Nowadays right here on DU, people are saying "It's ok to break the laws and steal" as long as the victim is rich.

Cheating a wine collector? That's ok.

Cheating a fried-chicken franchise? That's ok.

Quite frankly, it makes me sick.

It's the *EXACT* attitude Bush, Cheney and their cronies have, towards their colossal fiasco.

"It's ok people, we're wearing white hats!"

1. Not everyone feels that way. Only a small minority.

Most people have a moral compass that prevents them from cheating and swindling other people.

The exceptions, though, are striking. That they tell people about it is interesting.

If you venture into that market, knowing the odds, you have no one to blame but your own wine-snob self.

The wine collector story I found interesting as the criminal seemed only somewhat more scummy than the victim, though the criminal will do time while the victim never will because all the scummy shit he's pulled is perfectly legal.

Exactly WHAT did he pull?

And lumping in Charles and David Koch with him is simply wrong.

Not actively subverting the entire system, the way his corrupt brothers do.

But even if we don't like what he is doing, that means it's ok to cheat him?

12. AS I said, the scummy things he does are all perfectly legal.

And I never said it was okay to cheat him, just that the thief who conned him on the wine will do time for the illegal scummy things he did while William Koch will never do time because the scummy things he does are all perfectly legal.

the results of going into Iraq has caused death and other suffering for many and continues.

"Hasn't caused any harm?"

So it's ok to steal?

that we ignore or don't know about.

just because i'm not outraged over some Koch brother being cheated doesn't mean i think something is right or ok.
