And after all the ice melts on Earth, and much of the Earth is flooded, then it will begin to evaporate until all water is gone, and it will look like Mars. Of course, it may take 50 or 60 years.

Mars is smaller than Earth, and has no magnetic field. As a result, the Sun has blown away most of Mars's atmosphere, including the water.

Earth is larger, and has a magnetic field. As a result, we aren't going to lose all our water, even if 100% of the ice caps melt.

They've detected water in the soil of Mars. They've also found it in the ice at the poles, mixed with solid CO2.

What happened to the water is Mars is smaller than Earth, so it has less gravity. Which makes it harder for Mars to hold on to an atmosphere.

Further, Mars does not have a magnetic field. Earth's magnetic field repels a significant portion of the "solar wind". Since Mars doesn't have a magnetic field, all of the "solar wind" hits Mars's atmosphere, which also makes it harder for Mars to hold on to an atmosphere.

As a result, Mars only has an extremely thin atmosphere today. The vast majority of the gasses, including water vapor, were lost into space.

Because of Earth's stronger gravity and magnetic field, the same thing can't happen to Earth.....until the sun starts becoming a red giant in a few billion years.
