From Raw Story "To foil Medicaid expansion in VA, GOP lawmakers broke into governor’s office"

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/06/25/to-foil-medicaid-expansion-in-va-gop-lawmakers-broke-into-governors-office/

The Virginia Speaker of the House has recently used a series of gimmicks and unusual tricks — including having Capitol Police enter the governor’s unoccupied office, and refusing to recognize line-item vetoes — to push through a budget that blocks expanded health care for the poor.

After being sworn into office earlier this year, Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe pledged to fight to use the funds provided by President Barack Obama’s health care reform law to expand Medicaid. Virginia Republicans, however, eventually convinced a Democratic state senator to resign, giving them the ability to pass a budget that included two amendments that blocked federal dollars for expanding Medicaid, and required the governor to get express permission from the Legislature before attempting any type of expansion.

GOP hates Black people (duh, the President) and poor people, no matter what color they are.

Not news, well established FACT...

Someday the idiotic white/racist poor and the minorities will combine and WOO HOO, watch out!

Come election time the GOP loves both the poor and those of color...especially the real stupid ones who drool like Pavlov's dogs when they hear those wonderful stories about Jesus and how he used his AR-15 to defeat the Roman army besieging Jerusalem!

That's all it takes to get people to vote against their own better interests, just tell them that Jesus wouldn't like it and that the government is coming to take away their penis extensions...

who was of course the first liberal.

There is not a single position or attitude any righty takes that is similar to Jesus, Jesus and righty are at opposite ends of every single issue.

Fugelsang does a good job of pointing that out, using scripture.

It really comes down to that and in Mississippi it seems many answered that.

A large number of the people who voted for McDaniel are alive ONLY because of govt subsidies, McDaniel said he would take them all away and he used those exact words, and they voted for him anyway.

So, for many of them, their hatred is actually stronger than their will to survive.

They really are disconnected about "their situation" and the lies the GOP tell about all those "other" people, i.e., black people, getting some perceived "extras" or stealing from the system... They say their tax money, even when they are living off of the Govt in the form of disability and SNAP and heat/ air assistance, etc.

They really do disconnect their situation with that of the rest of America. They are a special case. They really do qualify the help. In the meantime, their own safety nets are being slashed to hell, their kid's educational needs (which would help the next generation in their family to climb out of poverty), are being taught creationism views and that dinosaurs roamed the earth with humans. They just don't have enough education and the ability to see the "big picture".

And then, even worse, they listen to their Pastors in their churches preach that Pres Obama is Satan Incarnate and that he's a secret Muslim trying to destroy "their America" from within. And they listen to the likes of Rush and Fox Noise with their lies and fake outrage. And God forbid, they are going to have their guns taken away, and if they refuse, they will be put in those secret govt concentration camps.

And you can tell they are extremely upset that a black man, with a terrorist name, and his wife and 2 kids are "living it up" I'm the White House, they take nice vacations, they have nice things, and it's killing them because this black family has risen above their status in life. Their ability to be able to look down on the "other's" as has always happened is just making them crazy!

At some point, it would be nice if they quit being jealous and thinking they deserve to be better off than anyone else, and decide to work together with the "other" and decide the wealthy need to be paying back into the system and that everyone who works, should receive a wage that allows one to live and not have to subsidize their existence with govt's help.

Social Security and disability are "earned" benefits"...just as unemployment insurance is. Disability is an insurance policy everyone who gets it has paid into. It is not welfare. Please don't go there.

Aren't the police supposed to be there to keep people from breaking into offices? How does shit like this happen and no one be investigated of arrested?

And they try to say Democrats are always wrong and doing illegal actions. Look at Boehner with his lawsuit today. The gall of these Republicans is amazing.

to the great unwashed masses and all will be cheery again.

French peasants with little education realized they were being fucked by the man but "educated" Americans can't.

Maybe it's because French peasants didn't have Xbox and the Kardashians to lull them into drooling ignorance.
