Group Asks Americans To Send Dirty Underwear To Undocumented Immigrants
One anti-immigrant group has started an Underwear for Illegals campaign that asks Americans to send dirty underwear to undocumented immigrants and top politicians in order to stop the new surge of illegal immigrants crossing Americas borders, enticed by promises of immigration reform amnesty.
In a message board thread posted on Wednesday, William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), wrote that Americans should mail more than 10,000 pairs of used underwear that range anywhere from gently used to those in bad shape to President Obama, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), and undocumented immigrants in detention facilities.

(16,296 posts)because his Mommy tells him to wear them as he dresses in the cellar bedroom in case he gets into an accident and they have to take him to the hospital.
Remember those adages - clean your plate, sit up straight, don't talk with your mouth full of food, wear clean underwear.

(31,803 posts)There's no need for people to be so cruel. But it's like - they 'live this'. It's WHAT they are.
Thank you for sharing this Trumad - and I tend to agree with you. I hope this individual doesn't have an easy passing.

It sounds like the idea of someone in their single-digit years.

(73,528 posts)and I were taking up a warm clothing & blankets drive for a poor Native American community. A local town allowed us to use the lobby of their civic center as a drop-off point. Someone dropped several bags of garbage there. Nice.
Another lady kept calling me at night. She let me know that she did not believe in assisting non-christians. One night, she was telling me that she would drop off "dust clothes" -- if people needed clothing, the women could sew them from the dust clothes.
My brother was at my house at the time. He got on another line, and asked the woman if she would be proud to tell Jesus about her donation of old dust rags to the poor and needy? She hung up, and never called again. The dumping of garbage stopped then, too.

(19,559 posts)Google "Christine Vetter federal law dirty underwear" and you'll see where one woman was prosecuted for mailing her underwear, and worse, to people who wanted to purchase them. I can only imagine prosecution would be easier if these things were being mailed to unwilling people.

(2,983 posts)You know, I used to think that we should hold ourselves to a higher standard, when it came to anger and hatred. That we should not become angry at, or truly despise the people who do these things because they are ignorant. Now though... the more time goes by, the more I have to listen to their hate filled bull shit... the more I feel like you do, Trumad.
Maybe we could start some kind of "return to sender" campaign. Send back the underwear along with a copy of the bible, highlighting different sections of the new testament. Maybe even a little brochure quoting the inscription on the statue of liberty.
Or, maybe we could send them back clean underwear, along with the dirty ones they send - with a letter of genuine concern. "Dear Sir or Madam, having recently discovered the state of the clothing you donated for illegal immigrants, we gladly return it to you out of awareness of your terrible plight. It is a struggle, in these tough economic times, to afford laundry soap, so included within is a bottle of Tide, along with some fabric softener. We empathize with your suffering and understand that you gave what you could out of the goodness of your heart. But no one should have to go without clean underclothing, so, out of the kindness of our hearts we have included a package. We thank you for your generosity. God Bless America and God bless you wonderful, generous folks, who gave the only underwear you had so unfortunate refugees and immigrants need not be cold at night."

(1,805 posts)I think wishing anyone a "slow, excruciating death" and telling them to "burn in hell" is a bit strong. I've seen posts alerted on with this kind of sentiment - in fact, not as strong. I'm certainly not alerting, as I agree these people are asshats, but I think you might want to tone down your rhetoric. DU is better than this.

(484 posts)Perhaps karma tailors each person's fate to his particular belief system. Those who wallow in the Judeo/Christian puddle of self righteousness and judgement have a very special place in their hell reserved for not following their own preachment.
