Todd Akin Says He Lost Because He Loved The Constitution Too Much

Former Missouri congressman Todd Akin, who lost his bid for U.S. Senate following his notorious comments about “legitimate rape,” is out with a new book saying that his infamous remarks weren’t the real reason why he lost. Instead, Akin maintains in his new book, “Firing Back,” he was the victim of a plot by Republican party bosses who didn’t like the fact that his “first allegiance was always to the Constitution.”
