Looking for a gun shop near you?

Last edited Thu Jun 26, 2014, 04:25 PM - Edit history (1)

Just Google Gun Shop zipcode. It's that easy. Uff da!

ETA: I posted this because people might be interested in how many people near them hold Federal Firearms Licenses. I'm assuming that not that many DUers are looking to buy firearms. Knowing what's around you is useful information, I think. Some people apparently thought I was encouraging buying firearms. I'm not.

to find a place to buy a firearm. It's very interesting. I learned that I didn't know how many firearms dealers there were near me.

Information is good.

Couple are in residential neighborhoods. I assume it's the address of the licensee.

and it appears that about 98% of them are people with FFLs and not actual retail 'gun stores'. These are guys that sell guns at gun shows and by law must do background checks for every sale.

11. That's true. However, they can still sell you a firearm

if they want to. I imagine that some of those people are actively engaged in doing that, despite not having storefront locations. Having an FFL also allows a person to order firearms online for direct delivery. Some may be just using it primary to buy firearms.

but I think for the most part, they sell guns at shows and to their friends and people they know, not just any hanyacker that comes off the street.

7. No I'm not. But you are a gun owner with multiple weapons as I recall, so I can see why you would.

I don't care for them myself. I assume folks who own a few probably have occasional need to give custom to such a shop but like smack or strip clubs I'm just not looking for it.

9. I do own a few firearms. I haven't purchased one in over two

decades though, nor do I intend to add any. I no longer hunt or compete in target shooting. I was just curious, and was surprised by the number of FFL owners near where I live. I'm curious about many things. It's a personal characteristic.
