Hillary Clinton only made one mistake in the last 12 years. But it was truly fatal.

she became a known quantity.
and few and far between are the ISSUE VOTERS
(electing someone/anyone as the first female President is a different sort of issue)
who can put aside what they want, for what Hillary wants.

That's a perspective that hadn't occurred to me. It's a sad commentary on the state of our democracy that presidential candidates are more likely to be successful when voters can fill in the blanks with their own perceptions of who the candidate is and what they stand for, rather than having an actual record of public life to judge the by.

I was terribly underwhelmed by Obama's "hope and change" campaign. I mean, it's vague advertising, not a vision to share or reject. Now I realize that was by design.

Hillary Clinton still has not announced for the Presidency. She's still out there on the standard book tour. And yet, she's "made a fatal mistake," and is politically dead.

We shall see.

I see where the OP is coming from. And I think it's fair to consider Hillary a candidate and debated her accordingly. She's created all of this.

And that's more a facet of her limitations as a thinker, policy maker, politician and statesman than anything else.

It is one thing to be insistent when you are right and you can prove it.

It's a whole 'nother thing to be insistent when you are wrong, but can't admit it even when people tell you to your face.

As if policy no longer counts.
In a way, I guess that is correct, since anything said while campaigning has been classified as just stuff said in order to win, not to be construed as what will actually happen.
If we are to praise the TPP in order to be "loyal to the party", I will have to bow out of here.

She underestimated the caucus states in 08. Either through overconfidence or arrogance. Had she contested them, we'd likely be in her second term right now.

And if we're not discussing 08 in the context of 'fatal mistake,' what are we discussing?

As for your absurd statement "when she had her chance,' I have to say you're not living in reality.

she is a sitting duck, with no useful surprises up her sleeve, nothing to refer voters to as enticing policy preferences, other than illegal warfare, maximized H1B visas and Bill's baggage.
She may well work the party enough to hit the last ticket,
but I have very little faith that it will work out for her in the end.
Hopefully we will both be here to consider the final result of her efforts.
You realize that people have to overlook EVERYTHING about her to believe the

you believe you're smarter than 60 - 68% of the Democratic voting electorate. You believe the average Dem voter is unaware of all those items you listed and when they're made aware of it, they'll turn against Clinton. BUT WAIT! The OP says she's a known quantity.

The netroots echo chamber is going to to twist themselves in knots over this.

You realize that people have to overlook EVERYTHING about her to believe the "D"?

Apparently they have.

the reference to the SCOTUS shoring up "support"
followed by the jab at Biden
should have been crystal clear.
the only thing I see clearly is either you fail to understand me,
or you continue to misrepresent my statements.
either way, maybe we should go back to our different schools of thought and
whatever grade level you feel is appropriate.
