Hey soccer fans! Ann Coulter says your interest in the game is a sign of moral decay

I am not making this shit up.

“If more ‘Americans’ are watching soccer today, it’s only because of the demographic switch effected by Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 immigration law,” Coulter writes. “I promise you: No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer,” she continues. “One can only hope that, in addition to learning English, these new Americans will drop their soccer fetish with time.”

Really. I hope you foreign socialists who waved American flags and screamed "USA! USA!" today heed Ann's words of wisdom. See her lists of reasons soccer is a threat to our nation here including:

“Individual achievement is not a big factor in soccer … There are no heroes, no losers, no accountability, and no child’s fragile self-esteem is bruised.”

“Liberal moms like soccer because it’s a sport in which athletic talent finds so little expression that girls can play with boys.”

“No other ‘sport’ ends in as many scoreless ties as soccer.”

I always thought that the phrase "soccer mom" referred to 'Middle class America'. Now it's something to frown at, Un-American. The GOP are so divisive.

When Sarah Palin was running for VP, she proudly referred to herself as a soccer mom. Ann needs to send her a Tweet on the 'soccer mom' update. Fucking stupid

Since hockey is a macho sport with lots of high speed collisions, fist fights, blood and missing teeth, it's more American than soccer which Palin and (apparently) Coulter perceive to be a candy ass sport.

It's actually pretty funny. She gets extra points for sticking in a reference to singing Kumbiya, almost a requirement if you're trying to ridicule "liberals". If you want to talk about liberals singing Kumbiya, you have to do it in a girlish falsetto, in order to demonstrate that not only are liberals naive, they are also somewhat effeminate.

Actually its probably best to ignore her. This is just one more giant step on her slide into irrelevancy.

Oh, as a Mom of two kids who played soccer...there are trips to the emergency room when they hit high school, and I would suggest that Stupid Ann get on a pitch with female players, especially goalies, 'cause when they need to, they'll come out after that ass'! I have sons, but watched the tryouts for the junior league to groom everyone for the team in Chattanooga...those females didn't take any shit...so bring it Ann, a nice kick upside the head, in the heat of the game, just might chill your stupid ass out!

More violent then American "football" but without the ridiculous body armour.

But then it's much more of a team game. Trying to play rugby with her "individualist" philosophy is a sure fire way to get yourself very badly hurt.

That'll confuse her.

for eighty minutes with no breaks. And Union rules. League is just 7 aside. You at least have to have the possibility of a scrum to qualify as Rugby. This toe back business in league is a shame IMHO. The modern game is just so sweet to watch. Some of the Bocks and All Black matches are epic.

...I think the only reason why you don't see as much fisticuffs at Premier League or international level is that you've got the TV cameras about so you are much more likely to get caught.

I actually prefer watching rugby to football these days if truth be told. It's cheaper to watch a rugby match then a football match, the club I follow are very good (nearly won promotion to the premier league last season), and the atmosphere at the match is great! All of which would be lost on somebody like Ann Coulter I'm sure.

She throws her little hissy-fit over soccer, laden with xenophobia and racism---right when all hell is breaking loose over Team USA's performance at this year's World Cup. In the last couple of days, I've seen big, enthusiastic celebrations on TV, from Chicago all the way to San Antonio. Deal with it, Ann---once a nation's young people are engaged in soccer programs from coast to coast, it's over.

It's a proven fact that about 96% of Americans disagree with her wholeheartedly. I have great faith that she's already slithered back to that rock she lives under. Ann Coulter represents about 2% of the population. The other 2% are forever 'undecided' and are only important to the media in the last month before a Presidential election.

Sat Jun 28, 2014, 11:13 AM

The English, that's who. Do they also need to learn the language? They were playing football way before those Hispanics that bother you so much.

"The first set of football rules was drawn up at the University of Cambridge in 1848 and became particularly influential in the development of subsequent codes, including association football. Known as the Cambridge Rules, they were written at Trinity College, Cambridge, at a meeting attended by representatives from Eton, Harrow, Shrewsbury, Rugby and Winchester schools, though they were not universally adopted. During the 1850s, many clubs unconnected to schools or universities were formed throughout the English-speaking world, to play various forms of football. Some came up with their own distinct codes of rules, most notably the Sheffield Football Club, formed by former public school pupils in 1857, which led to formation of a Sheffield Football Association in 1867."

It seems that all the moron's in the Republican party have been piping up regularly with asinine comments.
