...but if they win back the Senate, they will have to impeach Barack Obama. Their "base" demands it. And there are not enough of them with backbones to prevent it.
Fortunately, they will not have enough votes to convict and they will not have enough votes to over-ride Barack Obama's vetoes. So, if they win the Senate, it looks like we are in for more gridlock?
But, I do not think the American people will put the Republicans in charge of both Houses? I think the Republican Party will be shocked on the first Wednesday of November.
Our forefathers would be shocked today to see the government that they created.

(89 posts)I understand that conventional wisdom shows that a president with poor approval ratings really hurts his party during mid terms. The difference this time is that the republicans have really low approval ratings themselves. I mean really low.

(111,070 posts)But the Republicans have been so god-awful dreadful that even Republican voters have had the silky film removed from their eyes. At least, that is my hope.
