Get Ready For Wild West Unless We Stop Open Carry Gun Toters.

Target's failure to ban guns in its stores is encouraging the open carry gangs to spread their toxin. We will degenerate into chaos unless we reverse this "open gun toting meme". There is no logical reason to carry deadly weapons when you go shopping for even a gallon of milk. Their plan is to intimidate America to to become an open armed camp. These deranged assholes and unAmerican and unpatriotic.

Open carry weapons loaded or not will increase exponentially accidental shootings and death. And when there are incidents when the police of even fire departments respond to incidents no one will know who the real bad guys are. Imagine responding to a shooting incident if there is an active fire fight going on, which could happen with multiple weapons. Even the open carry people will be shooting each other because who the enemy is will be a blur.

Responsible businesses will do themselves a favor by banning all weapons on their property. There are more of us than there are of them. If we do not stop and deter this idiocy we will look more like the Middle East. Who know rocket propelled grenade launchers might be the next weapon of choice.

1. But don't get caught with fireworks

Many states ban fireworks while allowing citizens to carry weapons.

Guns are far more dangerous than a firecracker, yet many states have stiff penalties for those who use fireworks.

According to the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 3743, it is legal for those age 18 and older to purchase consumer fireworks from a licensed dealer. These include firecrackers, bottle rockets, roman candles and fountains. However, purchasers must sign an affidavit that they will transport the fireworks out of state within 48 hours of purchase.

Novelty fireworks, which include sparklers, snaps and smoke bombs may be purchased and used within Ohio.

What's Not Legal:

It's not legal to discharge non-novelty, consumer fireworks, such as firecrackers and bottle rockets, in Ohio without an exhibitor's license (even though it IS legal to purchase these items.) Professional-grade fireworks are not legal to purchase or discharge in Ohio without a professional operator's license.

Penalties for Using Fireworks Illegally:

Using consumer fireworks like firecrackers, bottle rockets, roman candles and fountains in Ohio without a license is a 1st degree misdemeanor and punishable by a $1000 fine and up to six months in jail.

So shoot 'em up but don't shoot 'em off.

2. Even the "Wild West" was fiction.

Pure Hollywood.

In reality, most towns had a law requirement that people in town check in their guns with the sheriff.

Even the "Gunfight at the OK Corral" had 3 dead, 1 wounded. That's all.

These "Open Carry" losers sure are fine specimens of manhood, right?

by the pudgy guy in the red t-shirt who seems to be cuddling his gun. That's just wrong. And every last one of them looks like an extra from the cast of "Deliverance."

14. Fiction yes, but not pure Hollywood. The fictions were first presented in literature about the West

As usual, Hollywood simply purchased and co-opted the winning narratives from printed works. An example is Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshall which was a huge best seller in 1931, followed in 1934 by the film, Frontier Marshall and another of the same name in 1939. My Darling Clementine and the Earp TV series were all based on that book's dubious history.

individuals. Now, my opinion is shifting toward supporting very strong weapons control in the US. These assholes have demonstrated to me the need for stringent firearms control in the US. This, is not going to stop. it will grow and grow and as the OP says, this country is headed toward a bunch of desperadoes and IMO running around waving their pricks (I mean guns) in the air. Wake the fuck up Americans.

As America crowds and bluifies, gun control will return, and ultimately that poorly interpreted Amendment will be done away with.

And just wait until brown people outnumber 'traditional Americans.'

The Open Carry movement will subside.

There is a lot of pushback from more reasonable gun owners.

Open carry has been legal in AZ forever and there is no "Wild West" here. Maybe the media and police departments are hiding it...
