Meshach Taylor, who played the lovable assistant Anthony Bouvier, who worked at the Sugarbaker interior design firm in the CBS hit sitcom Designing Women, has died, his agent Dede Binder confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 67.

Taylor, who immediately segued to another CBS comedy, Dave's World, when Designing Women was canceled, died Saturday night at his family's home in Altadena, where he was receiving hospice care. Earlier, his family posted a note on his Facebook page, saying, "It is with love and gratitude that we sorrowfully announce that our darling, amazingly brilliant and dynamic Meshach, the incredible father, husband, son and friend, has begun his grand transition."

You messed around with Matt Dillon, Ice T, and Judd Nelson . . .

You settled down with Will Smith, Emilio Estevez and Andrew McCarthy.

I'm gonna drop the mic now!

I want to mention that he was also in a sitcom called Buffalo Bill with Dabney Coleman which did not last long but which was hilarious.
Also he was amazing on stage in Sizwe Banzi Is Dead by Athol Fugard.
He will be missed by many.

Very sad.

RIP Meshach. I hope your journey is now restful and pain free.

Maybe I shouldn't watch these things. If we loose Annie Potts, I'll curl up in a corner and cry.
