Religious Freedom Meme Is About Forcing You To Listen To Their Religious Spiel.

This "religious freedom" meme is an attempt of the religious right to force you to listen to their spiel. Even worse they believe that as a parent you have to let your child be proselytized in public schools and in the public. To stop them from influencing your kids is a violation of their free speech. Their religious speech in their eyes trumps your right to refuse to listen.

By taking over the public forum with the aid of SCOTUS non believers are trapped from escaping the message. Their ultimate mission is to force the rest of us through law to live by THEIR Christian rules. What the radical Christian right wants to do is no different than what the Islamic Taliban is doing.

Unless we openly fight back against this radical Christian crusade we will see the end of our ability to refuse their message. Even now these misguided scum are infiltrating the school system and seizing children against the will of non believing parents. They will continue to spread their message of hate and exclusion unless we find a way to shut them down and shut them up.

Therefore the glorification of ignorance (euphemistically called FAITH) as the greatest human virtue is a defensive ploy designed to disempower the masses. Critical thinking that incites questions is the most dangerous enemy threatening the purveyors of ignorance for it is through the glorification ignorance that the spiritual preachers scare off the questions to which they have no honest answers.
Hence ignorance to the people surrenders power to the priesthood and the state..

Or the new lack of buffer zones at abortion providers and how the religious lunatics will be all up in patient's faces.

SCOTUS gave us that one too.

.... with their proselytizing. It drives more people away than it attracts. I just wish they would go back to church. I think the religious group doing this the most are the Protestant Evangelicals. When they come knocking at my door, I let them go on a minute, then I kindly tell them I am Catholic. They smile and back away from my door like I am the devil himself.

With the Internet, more and more people are comparing notes (especially younger ones) and coming to the conclusion that the religion that gets shoved down our throats daily in this country is man-made nonsense.

that gets repeated over and over, ad infinitum. If we allow it to dominate and become the only message people receive, it will be accepted by default. We have to be out there with an opposing view, just as loud as they are.

... no one likes to have religion shoved down their throats. If I am out and about and someone comes up to me and starts it, I look them straight in the eye and tell them I am not interested, thank you! I find it offensive. I think religion is personal and frankly none of anyone's business but my own.

As the late great George Carlin would say they made the whole fucking thing up. The last thing that the powers that be want is a well informed populace capable of critical thinking. They hide behind Christianity and will continue to do so because it's an easy way to control people and keep them in line.

11. And the Worst Violator Is Governor Booby Jindull
Sun Jun 29, 2014, 12:38 PM
Jun 2014

Booby, as he is sometimes called, thinks that it is his right to inflict his
religious beliefs on others.

And, if you refuse to let him do this, then he claims his "religious freedom" has
been violated.

He has complained about the "War on Christmas" and the "War on Religion".

He believes there is also a "War on Gun Rights" and I suspect a "War on Oil".

Soon, I expect he will propose going back into Iraq for a third time and he will
complain that there is a "War on War".

For more of his antics see http://stuartsdesk.com/Oldies_But_Goodies.html

...cheapens the actual sacrifice countless humans have made through the centuries to believe as they choose.

When British Christians got on a persecution kick former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams told them;

When you have any contact with real persecuted minorities you learn to use the word 'persecuted' very chastely. I think we are made to feel uncomfortable at times. We're made to feel as if we're idiots - perish the thought! But that kind of level of not being taken very seriously or being made fun of; I mean for goodness sake, grow up.

It always comes from the same band of Republican bastards who tout "freedom" with the absolute intention of turning America into their own chosen template - handled by a fist that can only be equated with Joseph Stalin. And, just like Stalin, propagate allegence to the power, lie about how everyone is treated and paid equally while the elite make off with the blood and sweat of the hard working citizenry.

My church is affiliated with the fastest-growing Baptist denomination in the USA, the American Baptist Convention, a progressive Baptist denomination.

My own church has grown in size, due in no small measure to the influx of fellow Christians who have grown weary of the evangelical 'dominionists'. We preach humility, charity, mercy, understanding, forgiveness, service to our fellow man and a strict separation of church and state.

And as soon as they are called on it, they scream that they are being persecuted. Lately they scream that they are being persecuted by the big bad black tyrannical president.

I'm sick of the bitching and moaning the religious reich has been doing these days. They love to get their noses in our business but as soon as we shine the light back on them, they scream "whaaaaa".
