Why is HuffPo and CNN sending out Breaking News Alerts for soccer game scores

Maybe if he US was involved I could see some twisted logic. Did they send out NBA score alerts during the second round of the NBA playoffs?

Also, it violates the DU Spoiler Alert rule.

Americans are so fucking parochial. They think the world revolves around them.

Or maybe there are plenty of fans of football in the US who are interested in the other games as well.

Plenty of fans of major league baseball in the US are interested in baseball scores, but CNN and Huffpo don't send out BREAKING NEWS Alerts for those scores.
