When SCOTUS decisions make my eyes well with tears, it's time to walk away and do something pleasant.
Predictable as sun rise. Kennedy the swing vote, my ass.
I can't bear to hash it over or even read posts about it.

(36,447 posts)I've been depressed since I heard both rulings this morning. Everyday a new outrage, some day's multiple outrages.
Five men sat behind their 535 foot protective barrier & ruled on legislation to oppress half the American population. I can barely grasp the rate at how far backwards we are going.

(15,429 posts)You who promote not voting for Hillary Clinton should she be the nominee.
I lay these decisions at the feet of progressives like you who refused to vote for Al Gore in 2000. Had Gore won, neither Alito nor Thomas would be sitting on the court. Neither of these decisions would have gone the way they did.
So if you're gonna cry, cry over your own self.
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)Because that'll help a LOT with future SCOTUS decisions.

(114,904 posts)My vote makes no difference. I live in Vermont. There is zero question about how the vote in VT will go. Furthermore, I voted for Gore, so that one is empty bullshit.
Hillary is a corporate candidate and she will sell more pieces of this country down the river to the corporations. Proof of that? Her role in the TPP. So yes, she'd be better on social issues and better when it comes to SCOTUS picks.
Furthermore, honey, Hillary is not the nominee at this point. I can slam her as policies and hypocrisies and advocate that she not be the nominee to my heart's content.
Don't like it? that's too bad.

(15,429 posts)You are promoting not voting for Hillary which makes you a person who doesn't care one bit about the SCOTUS, yet you cry about a court decision.
The absurdity of your position is astounding.
cali
(114,904 posts)I am not promoting anyone doing anything. It's my position. Others should do what they feel is best.
Now don't let your blood pressure zoom too high along with your outrage, dear.
Oh, and NO HILLARY.
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)YOU!
YES YOU PERSONALLY ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!
Look in the mirror to find out why we have numbnuts as SCOTUS justices who make horrible rulings that you cry over, because it lies AT YOUR FEET, and everybody like you.
cali
(114,904 posts)I have no interest in influencing anyone here when it comes to their vote.
And hilly won't be the nominee is my guess.
seems to me conservadems like YOU are the problem, hon.
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)And calling me a conservadem demonstrates you have precisely no knowledge of who I am.
So go cry over more court decisions, because you will have contributed to them.
cali
(114,904 posts)and do tell how I've contributed to them when I've voted dem in every single election since I was 18. I'd love to hear that.
and yeah, I've seen your posts. I have an idea of where you are politically.
you're a conservative dem. why can't you own that?
MohRokTah
(15,429 posts)That makes you culpable.
