Conservative Supreme Court Justices Just Made A Huge Mistake by Making Women Really Mad

Team Barack Obama ?@TeamBarackObama 1m
The Supreme Court Just Made A Huge Mistake by Making Women Really Mad http://go.shr.lc/1m2HZwJ #RememberInNovember #NotMyBossBusiness

____ The Supreme Court just gave Republicans their dream decision in the Hobby Lobby case, so now women who want birth control will have to go ask their Big Daddy boss for it. In Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby, this very conservative court voted to give corporations the right to refuse to cover contraception. (The way Republicans have argued this is totally not slut shaming at all, it’s just that if you sluts want sex, you’ll have to pay for it on your own, Lazy Lucys.)

Of course, women know that birth control is used for more than just birth control. Women use it for all kinds of medical reasons that the boys in the Republican Party don’t seem to understand, but then, they believe in legitimate rape and shutting that whole thing down so who can blame them.

. . . This court loves them some corporations and so a corporation’s right to impose their religion is more important than a woman’s access to life saving birth control under a medical insurance plan. Let’s just say that somewhere in America right now there is a group of women coming up with a religion that is against pacemakers and Viagra and they are very much looking forward to proving their point.

That noise you just heard was death rattle gasp of the GOP tent. The Republican Party now officially stands for taking access to birth control (life-saving) away from women, as well as regulating a woman’s eggs even before they are implanted. That’s a super interesting way of standing for “freedom”, but one that will not stand the test of time.

Binders Full of Women will get out the vote this fall. They will keep voting until this travesty is put to rest. Thanks, SCOTUS, for waking up the women of America.

If women get truly angry and vote their anger because of this ridiculous ruling, it could change the political landscape no matter what the national media says or does. Being told you cannot have contraceptives, you have to pay on your own, when others have coverage, that will anger many. If many ..or most..vote against those conservative ideas, and the most understand what has truly happened, the landscape could be changed in our favor for decades..yes, decades

Depends on what women do.

I wouldn't put it past this SCOTUS to legalize rape as the freedom of expression right of white men. I don't think it can be over emphasized what danger women's rights are in right now, as well as every other minority group's rights as well.

I just don't get how any sane woman could ever vote Puke but I know they do. It's hard to deem them worthy of respect as they don't seem to have any for themselves or other women.

I sure hope the rest of us with brains left get ourselves and every other fair and sane person we know out to make the Pukes pay for this at the polls.

Think Roe v Wade is still "settled law"? Well, YOU may agree that it is. But the avalanche of obstructors and objectors who disagree and want to take that right away from us women - will NEVER agree or concede or go away or give up. Which means WE CAN'T EITHER!!!!!!

And it does no good to assume that just because we have a "D" in the White House, that'll be enough. What if that "D" is outnumbered by "Rs" in BOTH House and Senate? When they tried impeachment against President Clinton, they had an "R" House of Reps. They failed in the Senate because there was a "D" Senate to stop it and prevent his conviction on those articles of impeachment. But what if it had been different? What if he'd been up against an "R" Senate, so deeply politicized that they would jump at the chance at voter nullification and getting rid of him - even if it meant we'd have a President Gore.

We can't ONLY have a Democrat in the Oval Office and assume we're safe. That "D" needs lots of backup across town on Capitol Hill too.

EVERYBODY, PLEASE!!! REMEMBER!!!! The bad guys are numerous and relentless. They do NOT roll over and go back to sleep, assuming they've "got this." They don't give up. They just never do. So we can't afford to. EVER.
'
GET OUT AND VOTE, PEOPLE!!!! And make damn sure your friends and family - and all those "meh, they're all alike, no difference, blah-blah-blah" assholes do likewise!

(AKA probably someone rich) dictating your personal life which they absolutely adore.

Come on, if you are for economic feudalism then what's not to like?

Also, they actually like a pervasive and unlimited government a lot they just want it to be restrained in scope to blowing up brown and yellow folks, controlling other folk's bodies in various ways (out of fear that someone might have a good time), keeping the minorities at home properly beaten down, spying on everyone for profit and power, and security for some people's property (their's and their liege's).

They just can't abide the general welfare and equal protection under the law bits, when they say they hate the government this is what they speak of though some have moved on to just wanting the corporations to do the bombing and forced ultrasounds and do actually hate the government, most are still big believers after their fashion.

If you want to reach the youth, you go where they live and do it on their terms...otherwise we can preach to the choir here and all we will get is a little (OK, today its MUCH NEEDED) tension relief by screaming about this...

Someone should also make videos of the civil rights movements for blacks and women to remind everyone of just how hard our for-bearers had to fight for the rights we have now, that we are just sitting here watching them disappear one my one. It's time to quit the inner squabbling and devote all our energies to getting as many Pukes out of office as we can.

Then we can look to running actual progressives in primaries but #1 has to be tossing the Pukes out first.

spousal abuse.

And then what about those pesky laws against rape if the victim is your wife?

Does FIFRA make them unenforceable?

Couldn't a man's religion and conscience permit him to rape his wife without consequences if you take the FIFRA as far as the Supreme Court is taking it?

Maybe I am a bit emotional about this, but such a hideous decision.

Women's rights are going to be, along with the NSA spying and economic inequality A DECISIVE ISSUE IN 2016 IF NOT IN 2014.

We have to get the message out to Southern women: if you want birth control, you had better vote Democratic. If you want a career outside your kitchen and the nursery, you had better vote Democratic. Democrats stand for women.

Republicans want women weak, willing and wet. That's all they want us for. Shame on them.

...and expect us to magically not get pregnant. In certain areas of this country, that happens routinely. Yeah, I am talking about the area where I live, those red states, especially in the southeast. The running joke is to find a 12 year old virgin, you have to find a girl who can outrun her brother, father, uncles, AND her cousins. The guy my mother picked out to try to make me straight told me being a lesbian was wrong, but he had sex with his sister routinely and that was ok.

So, good luck getting that no sex idea to work in places like my hometown. They will just rape a woman and get it anyhow and there is nothing women can do to fight back or get any justice, at least not in places like my hometown.

I wish your plan would catch on and work though. Something has got to give. Women are, not slowly, but fast losing rights it took ages to get in the first place.

We have freedom on the sidewalks of public areas to hand out info to every Hobby Lobby shopper - ok also to yell at them that every cent they spend in Hoppy Lobby supports abortions and religious oppression in China.

The full effect of the decision won't be known for some time. What we can expect is that HL and the other plaintiffs in the case will immediately advise their insurer to remove the "objectionable" forms of birth control from coverage.

Based on state insurance law there may be a 30 to 60 day notice requirement so the coverage may remain in effect during that period. If I were representing HL I would urge them not to challenge state notice requirements.

The longer term effects in terms of the number of companies that may qualify for the exception will actually exercise that right won't be known for some time. As well the administration may apply the same carve out they have for non-profits with a religious exemption and push the cost for the coverage to the insurance company.

What I thought was ironic with the decision was the Court's own "push" of the non-profit carve out "cram down" on the insurance company. Do they really not think that the insurance company is going to recover those extra costs by charging higher premiums for the other covered services?

I do hope, as your suggest, that women's vision will continue to become clear on the difference between the Republicans and Democrats with respect to women. The Republicans don't have a problem with companies compensating men and women differently for the same job. Republicans apparently don't have a problem with insurance companies charging women more for their health insurance simply because they are women. Don't they realize that without women, and healthy women, some of them might not be here or they won't have someone to "drill"? Republicans seem to think that women deserve to be raped because they led the boys on. Republicans ridiculed the President's recent roundtable on paid leave, including maternity leave.

Republicans hate families and women. They do. They don't want workers to be paid a living wage. They seem opposed to unemployment insurance, access to affordable health care, food assistance when needed, etc.

In the end we will have all the freedom that we can afford and not an iota more or less.

Abortion won't be illegal, all you'll have to do is bring in a concierge practitioner to your estate, no worries about privacy because if he talks you will own them (if you don't already). If you can afford it then have at it with the birth control, you think rich men want their mistresses coming up pregnant all the time or for their wives carrying all the time? They don't want their fortunes divided 200 ways.

And when so many of the GOP want voter ID that discriminates against Dems and females, and when they want to rob women of so many rights we gained in the last 20 years it is just a very good deduction that that would be the next step. After all most women vote Dem and they don't want anyone who votes Dem to vote period, paragraph. My memory does not have a link.

Nothing ever seems to make women angry enough to change things. Then again, as fast as we are losing rights, soon, we won't be ABLE to change things. Oh, THEN women will want to change things, but by then, it will be a much harder fight and takes ages to get back to almost having rights again, which was the most we almost got to begin with. One step forward and fifty steps back.

One trip around the fishbowl and most Americans cannot remember what they had for breakfast, let alone political realities.

This well-planned right-wing affront on American liberties will not change until those in power are voted out and replaced with those willing to stand up for what (supposedly) this country stands for. That holds for women's rights as well as the rights of ALL Americans. Worry less about starting wars and more about correcting social injustices that are running rampant in this country.

Until that happens about the only avenue left open is attacking the purse. Do not shop there. $$ and power is what they crave...If they were true to what they state then they would not be buying from China, or any other country that offers (in some cases forces) birth control. People and companies like H_L are cheats and liars, and they are well represented by cheats and liars. And right now they know they can get away with anything.

Fighting the lies in this country is not easy, but it must be done we are to survive.

The only way that we could ever get any of these unelected scumbags impeached is if we have Dem majorities in BOTH houses and then keep pushing those same Dems to DO it.

This isn't just a single ruling - it is a demonstrated pattern of activism designed to take rights from human individuals and give them to corporations (i.e. "fictional" persons) or others in positions of disproportionate power.
