Simple: Don't shop there.

(58,627 posts)I know it's not always that cut and dried, but if women avoid applying for employment, that'll be noticed.
I don't even know where a HL is, so I can't really boycott a store I don't frequent anyway, but I'll be on the lookout.

(45,410 posts)I've never been to one but a google map search shows they are in republican areas and red states. But I suppose those into crafts could shop at Michaels or independent competitors instead.

(58,627 posts)WA & CA, though I spent many years in one of the reddest counties in CA. I don't understand the mindset, obviously. The point, though, is that I don't think I've ever even seen a HL store.
Women in red states need to wake the hell up. That's for sure.

(1,446 posts)Use the lack of a buffer zone to gently hand coupons for Michaels to those about to enter Hobby Lobby and minister on the evils of Hobby Lobby.

What men and women of normal brain capacity and clear thinking need to do is not shop there. I won't.
Unfortunately, the Supreme Corporation of the United States has spoken. And there is not a damn thing we can do about it.

(21,020 posts)as people are saying to shop at Michael's instead, I would love to except for the fact that they don't sell online.
Or not that I've ever seen, anyway.
The nearest Michael's store to me is 35 miles (at least) from me, one way. Uhhhh....no.
I get the shopping brochures and stuff in the mail, and they always have some great deals, but travel that far is out of the question for me.
So I shop online at places like Joanne's, Herrschners, Lion Brand, Mary Maxim, Pattern Works. I sometimes buy yarn in bulk from people on eBay and I get needles, hooks, and other supplies on Amazon.com.
anyway, as I was watching some protesters on TV the other day, I found their double standards to be somewhat infuriating, as some of them held signs that said they didn't want the government to be making decisions about THEIR health care...yet, OTOH, they have no problem with trying to force the government to control women who choose to have abortions.
IOW, their stance seems to be, "Go tell this woman what she can and can't do but leave ME alone!"
yech.

(8,830 posts)They don't sell to individuals - only businesses - but they make a LOT of the cabinet facings and doors that are sold, so if you're considering a kitchen or bath remodel, ask your dealer where they source their cabinets and doors.
