As a man I can only speculate, but it seems to me that society has made it very difficult for a woman to break free of the constraints organized religion has put on them. It takes a strong person to be able to stand up in the face of that much adversity...

Look at the stupid Matt Lauer interview. "Given the pressure of this job at General Motors, can you do both well?" (asking about being a mom and a CEO).

Can anyone name one fucking time when a man was asked if he could handle being a father and a CEO at the same time?

...often at the very clinics they picketed. They'd protest on Monday, get an abortion Tuesday, and be right back out there protesting on Wednesday. Their overriding sentiment was that their situation was somehow "special", they weren't like those "other women" who were getting abortions but should be required to carry to term instead.

i suspect the same goes for most people (male and female) who consistently vote Rabid Republican, and then gladly make use of the benefits provided by Democrats/Feds. Ordinarily, they wouldn't be using these resources/services at all, but their circumstances are obviously "special", and anyone else who relies on them is a lazy parasite suckling at the government teat.

So it goes.

Liberals like to think they are helping women blah blah blah..... There are already clinics in place for a woman to get for contraceptives. Don't think that this is for one second about free birth control, its about control of government over private citizens right to freedom of religion."

This was posted by a woman yesterday in an online debate I was involved in over the Hobby Lobby court case.

She's from Alabama and a considerable number of women think just like her.

It's the woman's choice. Who one falls in love with is their choice. When I go to the Dr I don't need your help. Lots of folks I know votes against their best interest. They listen to FOX and learn crap and don't know they could at least bargain for a better deal, get equal pay for women and family leave but they just sit around while these crazy people teach them to hate.

So many sects and members of the major three desert-originated paternalistic monotheisms are anti-science, anti-women, anti-gay, anti-reason, etc. It really has been the way evil people have justified their power grabs and suppression of the masses.

We need a worldwide mass rejection of religion, and we need it now.
