Florida man in front-end loader leads police on 90-minute chase

Police say a Florida man stole a 20-ton front-end loader from a construction site and led police on a 90-minute chase through St. Petersburg, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The vehicle 32-year-old Donald John Clark was driving only went 25 mph, but its size made it impossible to corral.

Concerned residents alerted police to the situation, saying the man behind the wheel of the construction vehicle was driving erratically, hitting curbs and running through stop signs. Police followed the vehicle with lights and sirens on but Clark refused to stop, the Times reports.

The chase came to an end when the vehicle ran out of gas, Clark tried to resist arrest so officers had to use a Taser to subdue him and take him into custody.

The guy was totally out of control, as the article says.
