His "amusement park," that will do little besides preach to visitors.
Ken Ham is trying to drum up more publicity for his Noahs Ark Theme Park with a new billboard campaign lovingly targeting his intolerant liberal friends.
"Atheists and secularists do not want to see Ark Encounter built and are doing everything they can think of to stop it including spreading blatant lies and misinformation. They do not want anyone to learn that the Bible can be trusted and that observational science confirms the Bibles account of history. They also dont want people to be exposed to the life-changing messages of the Bible that will be boldly presented at Ark Encounter. They especially dont want our kidsthe next generationto hear this truth
"
"These attacks on Ark Encounter highlight their intolerance of religion. Secularists are trying to keep any mention of Christianity out of the culture, and this includes the Ark of the Bible. In recent blog posts and articles weve pointed out numerous instances of the growing intolerance toward religion, especially Christianity, throughout our culture."
A few things about that statement:
1) Of course no one can sink that ship. Its sitting on land. You dont need God to keep that thing afloat.
2) Ken, were not friends. Sorry.
3) No ones stopping you from building your theme park. We just want you to play by the same rules as everyone else,
The only thing intolerant atheists have done is point out that youre illegally adding religious restrictions to your hiring process even though Ark Encounter wants to be eligible for up to $18,000,000 in tax breaks. You cant have both. Either hiring must be open to everyone or you give up the tax benefits.
4) Were never going to be friends.
5) Theres no intolerance toward religion. You dont see atheists working to shut down churches or ban Christians from holding public office. Theres only frustration with blissful ignorance, which Ham possesses in spades.
6) Still not friends.

A HERETIC I AM
(24,365 posts)He knows he needs to convince enough people that this thing 'needs' to be built, but there aren't enough people who agree with him to finance it.
So...he has used other tactics of dubious legality in order to get the money. The idea that he merely comply with the law in his hiring practices rubs him the wrong way of course, so he will lash out at the only acceptable targets. Heaven forbid (pun intended) he was actually able to finance this "Ark Encounter" from the wallets of the faithful.
There is really only one reason the likes of the Ken Ham's of the world push this nonsense in the first place. If the stories told in Genesis are not factually and historically correct and true (they aren't) then the story of Adam and Eve is untrue. if there was no Adam and Eve, then there was no fall from grace. if there was no fall then there is no need for a redeemer and the entire Christian narrative begins to crumble like the house of cards it is.
Come on, ol Kenny! There has to be a bunch of pastors with seriously deep pockets who see the value of teaching this absurd myth to the next generation. Start with John Hagee in Texas, or Pat Robertson. I'm sure the two of them alone have a few million lying around,

(100,063 posts)I do, however have something against liars, fraudsters, scam artists, and con artists like Ken Ham. Especially those that run scams and cons in the name of religion and keep getting away with it.
