Protests planned ahead of George Will speech at Michigan State; student calls invitation a 'slap in the face'

There’s a growing movement of discontent over Michigan State University’s decision to invite Washington Post columnist George Will to speak at the December commencement, where he’s going to also receive an honorary degree.

Will wrote a column earlier this year where he asserted reports of sexual assaults on college campus make “victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges.” Emily Kollaritsch, a senior at Michigan State and a sexual assault survivor, said Will’s invitation to the university is a “slap in the face.”
