Elizabeth Warren was told to stay quiet, but she didnt and its paying offBy Zachary A. Goldfarb at the Washington Post

"SNIP....................
In her book released this year, Sen. Elizabeth Warren recounted a dinner she had with President Obamas chief economic adviser, Larry Summers, in April 2009, when Warren was the outspoken chairman of a congressionally appointed panel probing the governments response to the financial crisis.
Larry leaned back in his chair and offered me some advice. ... He teed it up this way: I had a choice. I could be an insider or I could be an outsider. Outsiders can say whatever they want. But people on the inside dont listen to them. Insiders, however, get lots of access and a chance to push their ideas. People powerful people listen to what they have to say. But insiders also understand one unbreakable rule. They dont criticize other insiders.
I had been warned.
Warren ignored the warning.
And if the past few weeks are any indication, she can operate as an insider without giving her up outsider credentials. Shes remained outspoken, but has become even more influential. She hasn't stopped throwing bombs at the rich and powerful and causing trouble for the White House but she's won a spot in Senate leadership, changed the shape of congressional debates over financial regulation and continued to draw widespread attention as a potential presidential candidate.

Hillary Clinton bring her A game. At the very most she might attract some of the libertariansthatrandpaulhaswarmedup/anti bankerteapartiers to her if she does run. Above all, I want to see a vigorous Democratic primary and even if Warren does not run she may help make that happen.

(24,544 posts)so to see her addressing that and going after the banks makes me immensely happy.
What I don't like is the "Warren good/Obama bad" stupidity that pervades far too many posts here. It's why I don't even bother reading many OPs on her. But if, as you said, she's able to encourage Hillary to up her game and attract a larger base to the Dem party, that would be great.
Though we all know that the only way to expand your base is to expand your message and policies, and the second she does that her "liberal champions" will drop her like a scalding potato but that's a discussion for another day.
