RW media use 'poverty roots of terrorism' to attack Kerry. No MSM coverage?

Interesting that MSM and left media will ignore statements by Kerry as if they never happened, while RW forms their own narrative with little to no counter at all from the left. Many Democrats could not even tell you that Kerry has ever made ANY references to poverty as one of the 'root causes' of terrorism. The RW can…..and despise and target him for it. Seriously…do a search on the subject and you can barely even blame Democrats, including those here on DU, for not knowing that Kerry has often linked poverty as one of the root causes for the growth in global terrorism. The first few pages that pop up are all attacks from RW media sites.

Secretary of State John Kerry met with his counterpart Pietro Parolin at the Vatican in Rome on Monday. After their meeting Kerry said this, via Weekly Standard:

We talked about the common interest of Pope Francis and President Obama in addressing poverty and extreme poverty on a global basis. The United States of America is deeply involved in efforts in Africa and in other parts of the world – in Asia, South Central Asia – to address this poverty, as is the Catholic Church. And so we have a huge common interest in dealing with this issue of poverty, which in many cases is the root cause of terrorism or even the root cause of the disenfranchisement of millions of people on this planet.

Secretary of State John Kerry is among those who on occasion cite poverty and other factors when discussing the causes of terrorism.

Late last month, Kerry told U.S. Embassy staffers in Ottawa that the response to Islamist extremism must be to deal with the distortion of Islam as well as providing “better alternatives for a whole bunch of young people who today live in places where they feel oppressed, where they don’t have a lot of opportunity, there’s not enough education, they don’t have jobs.”

Two weeks earlier, Kerry said terrorism such as that practiced by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) was not linked to Islam, pointing instead to poverty, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and climate change.
