First Cheney, now Rove, throwing Bush under the bus

Something is up. Why would Cheney and Rover implicate Bush in directly authorizing torture when they protected him from this accusation consistently during Bush's presidency?

Do they know something? Are they setting him up to take a fall or do they know he can't be prosecuted for some reason and if he takes the blame it shields everyone else?

Thoughts?

1. I think they've both secretly despised him.

I'm sure Rove had to put up with a lot of abuse over the years. They think he's an entitled little prick who doesn't deserve his money or position. They figure, on the slight chance they're going down, they're taking him down, too.

The Shrub is the ultimate "insider" you know, in the Bush Crime Family.

These folks don't worry too much about being arrested for anything really.

Which I guess supports the "they know he can't be prosecuted" hypothesis.

for the nitwit who wouldn't get hired at McDonald's...in a way he's right, and we forget Rove left after 6 years...didn't stick it out until the end...something happened between him and Dumbo.

That always felt odd to me, like he was getting back at someone with that.

and cleaned house, hoping to save shrub's "legacy" and what was left of the country.

Failed on both counts, I fear.

However I think Bush was out of the loop to some extent. This was Cheney's project. I remember reading that he chaired the meetings.

finish the sentence.

These friends are rats who have no conscience. I think Bush does have one but was never qualified to be president. Not curious enough and too trusting.

Cheney begged bush to start another war in his second term (I think with Iran), and even Bush wouldn't have it. I think Cheney is still pissed.

thats why Bush sidelined him when he figured out what was going on.
