on the CROmnibus bill. Al Franken, Amy Klobuchar, and Betty McCollum (MN CD-4). It didn't come as a surprise, really, and I had written to both of them expressing my hope that they would vote NO. That's not why they voted that way, but I wanted to support their decision. Sadly, my opinion did not keep the bill from passing. I can only influence my own elected officials, really.
I'm proud of all three. I've campaigned for all three. I've voted for all three more than once. I'll do the same every time they run. We need more people in Congress who will do the same. Let's elect more in 2016, shall we? Everywhere we can.

I am sad, this day-for all the other constituencies who's elected lawmakers failed to represent them.

(146,254 posts)We work hard in Minnesota to elect people who will represent us well. Apparently in Oregon, as well. Oregon and Minnesota also show outstanding voter turnout. Oregon, in part, due to its vote-by-mail elections. Minnesota, because our DFL Party has a very strong GOTV focus, I think.
We have three Republican House members out of eight. We keep trying to fix that, but haven't succeeded yet. We'll keep working.
Al Franken and my House Rep, Betty McCollum are strong progressives. Amy Klobuchar is somewhat more moderate, but she voted NO, too, thank you very much.
I've met and talked to all three in the course of election campaigning and caucus and convention work. They listen. That's why they win. They listen.
