Menendez is out of the chairmanship of the Foreign Relations committee in January, one silver lining.

By releasing the Cuban prisoners the Obama Admin. made one of the first gestures towards healing relations with Cuba. The Cuba "spies" were basically reporting on how the US was attacking their country. They were patriots.

It's so hard for historical reasons for the US to recognize the rights of the Cuban people. They didn't want to be a colony and boy they suffered for it.

Also congrats to Senator Patrick Leahy of the great state of Vermont and Senator Flake who is a good republican on this issue for greasing the wheels on the swap.
