At 11:50pmET last night, Dish network viewers lost Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network after negotiations on a new carriage agreement failed. Fox says DISH dropped the channel prematurely. Dish says 21st Century Fox blocked DISH customer access to those channels.
It is unfortunate that the millions of Fox News viewers on DISH were used as pawns by their provider, says Tim Cary, EVP of distribution for Fox News. Hopefully they will vote with their hard earned money and seek another one of our other valued distributors immediately.
If Billo barely scrapes three million in prime time, I hardly think the subset of Foxbots just on Dish qualify as 'millions'.

(6,960 posts)Seems like that would happen if the FoxPAC News viewers had to find real, credible sources for information.

(24,631 posts)Directv would drop Fox but that will not happen, they are owned by FIX Murdoch and the cronies.
Now we see what happens when you have the consolidation of the airwaves.

(70,494 posts)The CNN hiatus lasted 2-3 weeks. And Dish is really snarky, blocks the channel and names the slot, "CNN (or whomever) removed themselves" or somesuch. Plus, Dish substituted the Glenn BecKKK outlet in HLN's slot.
I started with Turner Vision 20-25 yrs ago. Then it turned into EchoStar (or was it vice versa), then Dish. Back then Dish seemed to be the politically and economic alternative to MURDOCH (then) owned Direct. But Dish seems to have ugly work culture (too), with the owner being alleged on the net to be an Ahhhnuld type who held fundraisers for Hillary then voted Rethug, horrid to employees.

(2,535 posts)A sign of the times. It doesn't matter much to me since I do so much on the internet. They did this instead of rasing prices and after a customer survey. Lots of Dish users here especially among the majority Latinos so the cable company did what it could. We have had a couple of cable companies to go out of business in the area.
