Mark Zuckerberg Tried To Stop The Movie 'The Social Network' From Being Made

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg did not want to have his college years relived on the big screen in "The Social Network," a leaked Sony email confirms.

The leaked email is one of about 32,000 internal Sony messages which were unearthed by hackers in recent weeks.

The Oscar-winning movie, written and produced by Aaron Sorkin, told the story of Facebook's founding years. Zuckerberg feels the movie got a lot wrong — although it managed to nail his wardrobe.

"The whole framing of the movie is I'm with this girl (who doesn't exist in real life) ... who dumps me ... which has happened in real life, a lot," Zuckerberg said following the film's release. "And basically the framing is that the whole reason for making Facebook is because I wanted to get girls, or wanted to get into clubs. They [the film's creators] just can't wrap their head around the idea that someone might build something because they like building things... It's interesting the stuff that they focused on getting right – like every single shirt and fleece they had in that movie is actually a shirt or fleece that I own."

Zuckerberg recently stated that he found the movie "hurtful." Sorkin felt badly.

"I know that I wouldn’t want a movie made about the things I did when I was 19 years old," he said on Today in November. "I didn’t set out to hurt his feelings,"

it's almost unpatriotic to keep posting leaked Sony emails. That's just what N Korea wants us to read........ gossip and business between private people's conversation.

They set it up to make it look like them (but in the wrong Korean) and they release it so we can read gossip?

3. It’s clear from the hard-coded paths and passwords in the malware that whoever wrote it had extensive knowledge of Sony’s internal architecture and access to key passwords. While it’s plausible that an attacker could have built up this knowledge over time and then used it to make the malware, Occam’s razor suggests the simpler explanation of an insider. It also fits with the pure revenge tact that this started out as.

4. Whoever did this is in it for revenge. The info and access they had could have easily been used to cash out, yet, instead, they are making every effort to burn Sony down. Just think what they could have done with passwords to all of Sony’s financial accounts? With the competitive intelligence in their business documents? From simple theft, to the sale of intellectual property, or even extortion – the attackers had many ways to become rich. Yet, instead, they chose to dump the data, rendering it useless. Likewise, I find it hard to believe that a “Nation State” which lives by propaganda would be so willing to just throw away such an unprecedented level of access to the beating heart of Hollywood itself.

On an episode Vice detailing the struggles of North Korean refugees in South Korea, they claim they are recognized but the type of Korean they speak so one claimed he is from a certain area of South Korea which is very similar to the type in North Korea to avoid the bigotry.

Hollywood usually gets it wrong, or like Zuckerberg points out, they simplify the rationale behind things and peoples' motivations...depth and honesty are beyond the realm of movie-making...especially Hollywood movies.

Besides that you have the basic parameters of what constitutes a good story for the big screen, which are very different from fiction or memoirs, unless Mark Zuckerberg produced, financed, wrote, starred in and directed his film it's still going to reflect someone else's vision of you, which depending on the subject might be indeed more accurate to the rest of the world. I'm prejudiced and I just judge by the hubris I encounter dealing with the behemoth that is Facebook but Zuckerberg doesn't strike me as the world's most self reflective guy.

As for the last person I can think of who wrote directed and starred in a film it was Darren Doane in Saving Christmas, and we all know how that turned out.
