Michelle Bachmann: Obama Supporting ‘Islamic Jihad’ & Laughed At Me During White House Holiday Party
Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) accused President Barack Obama of wanting to “cut the legs” off of Israel, and of dismissing her concerns over reported negotiations with Iran, Buzzfeed reported.
“I asked him to please end their nuclear program, because we have the capacity to end it,” Bachmann said in an interview with Family Research Council leader Tony Perkins. “And I said, ‘Mr. President, this will be on your watch.’ He laughed at me condescendingly, and he said: ‘Well, Michele, it isn’t that easy. But that’s okay.’ Like patting me on the head, like I didn’t know what I was talking about. And I looked back at him, and I said: ‘Mr. President, if Iran has a nuclear weapon, it will be on your watch. And the history of the world will change, because of your failure to act.’”
Bachmann, a former member of the House Intelligence Committee, said the encounter took place during a White House holiday party. As the Wall Street Journal reported last month, Obama contacted Iran’s supreme leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “Iran is very clear about their goal — their goal is to have a nuclear weapon,” Bachmann said. “They’ve said, unequivocally, they will use it against the United States and against Israel.”
However, Bachmann did not mention that, according to the Journal, Obama’s message to Khamenei involved the possibility of a collaboration in the fight against the militant Islamic State group (ISIS) that would be “largely contingent” on Iran reaching an agreement on its nuclear program with the U.S. and other countries. Iranian aircraft have reportedly attacked ISIS in Iraq.
