Berkly PD Spokesperson admits to showing EDITED video claiming....

.... claiming "there is no reason for the family of this young man to have to see the rest of this video"

BPD cuts the video of the Martin shooting justifying the editing by claiming what the family doesn't need to see...

Starting at 1:15

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/12/24/man-shot-killed-berkeley/20849045/

That's bullshit, that's never stopped the viewing of evidence before....

I would like to see the rest of the video...

I'm not liking this at all

- Edited video
- Not wearing assigned body cam
- No Dash cam turned on
- Kid laying there wounded for >20 mins (witness's reports
- Very few witness's are backing up gun claim were there were plenty of witness' backing up the cops on the knife claim from earlier this year

The BPD is error on the side of less disclosure here...

Somethings not right

Let us see ALL of the unedited video

Your take?

2. I can't tell what's in the video

The writing in the upper left corner obscures part of Martin's body. What I see is it looks like Martin fishes around in the bag he's carrying and *may* have taken something out of it. I can't tell if he's pointing with his right arm (at the cop) or if that's his left arm and his right is also held out where those letters are. The difference in those two positions is huge and in my second possible scenario he would be holding out both arms, perpendicular to his body in a "see, I don't have anything" gesture. The video needs to be professionally enhanced. I agreed with GGJohn that the cop's retreating looked as if he was afraid but I don't know. I find everyone who is so absolutely certain to be full of shit. The video is poor and I, like you, would like to see the whole thing though I suspect that still would not clear it up.

I haven't read much about this. Did Martin steal something in the store? What about the guy who was with him, wearing the light colored pants and cap? Has he said what happened because he was right there.

Body and dash, correct? I don't like that one bit, either.

When you say they fit the description - of what? Was the store or anyone robbed, was it shoplifting or what?

They were walking and Martin's friend walked right up to the officer's car when he drove in. Martin was off to the side and for some reason decided to stop and wait too.

Lots of unanswered questions here. Why did the cop enter the gas station? Why did Martin's friend go up to the police car? Why did Martin stop? And where is the fiend and what does he say happened?

The only obvious event we can depict from the videos is that the officer suddenly appeared to be very frightened.

and that wasn't one released by the police as far as I know (I think they released 3 form the gas station surveillance cameras but nothing could be discerned from those in my opinion).

Where did this video displaying the gun come from"

And there are still a lot of unanswered questions that would have been a lot easier to answer if the cop had his cameras on.

Society as a whole has a vested interest in ensuring the police are doing their jobs correctly and doing their best to prevent people from getting killed instead of being the perpetrators of killings themselves.

Like the police did not let a 12 year old boy lay dying, no attempt at first aid.
The police did not just now become so very fucking sensitive. If they felt the video bolstered their actions, they would release the video.

The body cams and dash cams are an expensive joke.

video back? No way for me, of course to know that, but the idea that the police are just being real sensitive comes off as complete bullshit.

Of course, I may not be the best judge of that, because I told my white, 19 year old, 6'4" grandson to never ever answer the door with anything in his hands, because he could be legally killed. So I am as bad as Mayor DiBlasio.
Who wouldn't be concerned for their family's safety when encountering the police these days? A few photo ops where a policeman is buying eggs for a poor woman cannot change that.

It's evidence, and it should not be tampered with, and this includes any editing. End of story.
