Dr Neil Tyson being devilish on Xmas..

Love this guy..never pegged JC for being a Capricorn anyway..

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson sparked an Internet supernova on Christmas Day when he took to Twitter to troll Christians.
“On this day long ago, a child was born who, by age 30, would transform the world,” the “Cosmos” host tweeted Thursday. “Happy Birthday Isaac Newton b. Dec 25, 1642.” The meteoric missive by the director of the Hayden Planetarium was retweeted more than 57,000 times and sparked plenty of vitriol.“This is disrespectful to Christians. Jesus created the science you cherish so much.
Everyone finds God eventually, you will too,” @Brianfagioli chimed in.

Tyson — long despised among religious conservatives — further incensed the faithful celebrating the birth of Jesus by tweeting: “Merry Christmas to all. A Pagan holiday (BC) becomes a Religious holiday (AD). Which then becomes a Shopping holiday (USA).”

Others disputed the date Tyson cited for the birth of Newton, the father of modern physics.
“No, he didn’t,” tweeted @fedkusko. “According to the Gregorian calendar he was born January 4th 1643.”
Newton was born while England used the Julian calendar, which put his birthdate as Dec. 25, 1642 — while the Gregorian calendar was used elsewhere.
Jesus Christ’s birthdate also has been questioned and researchers believe the Dec. 25 date was chosen because it coincided with existing pagan festivals.Tyson glossed over the date in yet another tweet: “QUESTION: This year, what do all world’s Muslims and Jews call December 25th? ANSWER: Thursday.”
Tyson could not be immediately reached for comment Friday.

Getting people riled up emotionally is no way to sell an intelligent message. Plus, he screwed up with that Muslims and Jews line. If all religion is fiction, why use other faiths to single out Christians for ridicule?

It is our current society's flat out refusal to accept facts that is tearing at the foundation of our way if life. And in not just talking about the astrophysics stuff. It extends to politics as well. People prefer a fantasy that fits their narrative to reality. Otherwise how can you explain things like people still championing tax cuts for the rich when the rich already have more wealth than ever before?

Here was his last Xmas tweet:

Santa knows Physics: Of all colors, Red Light penetrates fog best. That's why Benny the Blue-nosed reindeer never got the gig

— Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson) December 25, 2014

He would have had a much better day if that was his first and only one.

and I see he tweets this, a bit ago:

Imagine a world in which we are all enlightened by objective truths rather than offended by them.

have set themselves up to be ridiculed. If you want to use religion in the political fashion which they have elected to, pushback should be expected. I will not sit idly by while part of the population actively seeks to establish this nation as a theocracy.

ridicule is good, justifiable, or clever if you agree with it, but bad, unjustifiable, or mean if you don't.
