According to new analysis of the data the FCC recently released on the public commenting process, about 340,000 lost and/or ignored public comments serious.
A pro-net neutrality group, Fight for the Future, announced a major discrepancy in the number of comments that it helped to submit. The group managed to drive 777,364 commenters to post on the FCC's commenting forum, with CTO Jeff Lyon noting that "at least 244,811 [comments]" missing from that number, based off numbers recently released by the FCC. As if that weren't enough, a new Sunlight Foundation study found that 95,000 comments that were released by the FCC were duplicates.

OP
Couple years ago, I was told that our Gov. agencies consider any 'form' comments as one comment

I don't know what the outrage is for. It's not like they were going to heed the comments

My sceptic gene has grown in proportion to this kind of incident.

(65,616 posts)2. Why would the FCC corporate money whores want us to have net neutrality?
That goes against all the principles of vulture capitalism.

anywayz. It's part of the fake democratic process. You are free to send in your comments. Kinda like voting between corporatist thing 1 vs. corporatist thing 2. At least you get to vote.

(67,084 posts)9. Yep! The comments are meant to pacify those discontented, like the suggestion box in the
hallway of corporations that don't give a fuck. They will still do what they damn well please.

At least your name is now part of a database somewhere.

We know they do not want to represent the American people. We know they are weasel assholes.
